I am not posting this to rough any feathers with VT fans but come one, why do they year after year schedule some of the worst non-conference opponents in the nation. Northeastern ? and Kent State this year. A couple of years ago they had Florida A&M and James Madison. Not saying they do it every year but please someone explain to me why they play some of these pansies.

James Madison a pansy? they won the I-AA Championship 2 yrs ago
That's my point, If VA Tech wants to be know as a powerhouse in college football they can't play teams that win the I-AA Championship. James Madison is a good team in Division I-AA but couldn't hold their own in the ACC, SEC, Big East, etc. What about Northeastern?

They don't do any worse than any other big school, and all of these schedules are made up to 8-10 years ahead of time. If you want to see a terrible non-conference schedule look at Alabama.

Actually Northeastern was the 12th game approved by the NCAA last year they were the only team to be found in a rush. Tech has had Northwestern, Auburn, and Ohio State back out on them in future games and one team in Orange that they can't get on the field for 3 and then 20 million. I do hate playing teams like Notheastern but if you can't get games..... They do have LSU nest season and then Nebraska the year after.

Playing a pansy 1st game is ok I guess but the real kicker is Kent State in mid November . This is the time bowl committees start to look hard at you and your competition . Weaver what were you thinking ?

Wisconsin bowing out is still is no excuse for KENT STATE .
